Apple Day gives everyone an opportunity to bring along their apples, any type – eaters and cookers and in any condition, washed but not bruised – which can be juiced and taken home either to drink or freeze. All you need to bring on the day are apples and sterilised bottles.

Scheme 4 (Replacement of Potgill Holme Cattle Grid), which is scheduled to take place from 26 October to 13 November 2026, with a maximum duration of up to three weeks. These works will require a full road closure on the A684, with all traffic directed via the signed diversion route.
