Gentle Walking with Molehill Adventures

Whether you’re wanting hills or valleys, come along and join one of my regular Tuesday walks exploring the beautiful scenery surrounding Sedbergh.  Each walk will cover 5 to 7 miles, start at the Sedbergh Information Centre at 10am and cost £7 per person (minimum 5 people).

All walks are led by Pam, a fully qualified, local mountain leader with years of experience walking and leading in the Sedbergh area.

Other routes, distances and days of the week can be arranged to suit you.

Half day walks (3 hours) are £7.00 per person (min 5 people)

Full day walks (6 hours) are £14.00 per person (min 5 people)

Town Guided Walks with Richard French

Fancy an interesting short walk around Sedbergh Town and School buildings to give you a flavour of its rich history and magnificent setting?

Meet at the TIC gardens at 10.30am to walk with Richard French, your tour guide.

 Howgills Nordic Walking with Vivienne

Vivienne is a British Nordic Walking Instructor based in Sedbergh who provides technique classes and weekly walks (Tuesday and Thursday) in the stunning surroundings of Dentdale and the Howgills.

Nordic Walking is a low impact open-air exercise that is accessible to everyone. It is a particular style of walking that uses two specially designed poles to keep the posture upright and to work your upper body and enhance your natural walking experience.

·         Increases fitness and puts less strain on joints, especially hips, knees and ankles

·         Helps mental health and provides an opportunity to get out and meet people

·         Encourages good posture and releases stress in the neck and shoulders

·         It’s a great exercise for toning arms and abdominal muscles, increasing heart rate and aerobic capacity……….and burning calories!

Vivienne’s technique classes in Sedbergh are £30 and last 2.5/3 hours and poles can be provided.

Themed walks are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, they start at 9 am and last around 2-3 hours. There is also focus on the geography, geology and history of our area and sometimes include a topical item e.g., watching the steam train pass over Arten Gill Viaduct.  Shorter, gentler walks of 1-2 hours which will still give you a great whole-body workout can also be arranged.

Walks cost £6, or £30 for 6 walks, payable in advance. Details about the walks are sent out the week beforehand via email.
