A 684 closure

Westmorland and Furness Council have confirmed that everything is in place for the second phase of the works planned, on the A684, to take place from 27 July to 14 August, with a maximum duration of 3 weeks. To allow these works to be carried out safely, a full road closure will be in place throughout the construction period.
During the closure, all road users will be directed via the signed diversion route. Public transport operators and emergency services have been notified to enable them to make the necessary alternative arrangements.
Advance warning signs are already in place on site.
The diversion route for Scheme 2 will be similar to that used during Scheme 1. However, road users should note that there are height restrictions along the diversion route, including 15′-9″ on the B6259 and 14′-6″ on the A685, which may affect some larger vehicles
