Born in England, Julia has lived in Japan, Australia, the USA and France where she ran an auberge in the Pyrenees for six years with her husband. She spent the majority of the time as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language but also dabbled in bookselling, pawnbroking and waitressing.
Having spent many years wandering, she is now glad to call the Yorkshire Dales in the north of England home, its distinctive landscape and way of life providing the setting for her latest series of novels, the Dales Detective.
