Location: Farfield Mill

Farfield Mill will be celebrating National Heritage Open Day weekends with stories from the past. Come along to the Mill and find out about the textile heritage of the Yorkshire Dales and Sedbergh. See the power looms and Gilkes turbine (not working) on level 1, heritage display on level 2 and handweaving looms on Level 4.
We are setting up a heritage trail which can be assessed online to explain the history of Farfield Mill from its beginnings in 1836 to the eventual closure of commercial weaving in 1992. There will also be a children’s quiz.
