After travelling extensively, I returned to my hometown and the rugged and remote beauty of the Pennines. I spend my days revisiting my childhood haunts, capturing the atmosphere and drama of the Pennine landscape, its social and industrial heritage and the lives of the people who lived and worked here.
Our heritage is shaped by the landscape and this heritage still remains in the relics of the old mills, settlements, meandering waterways and boundaries that define the dramatic hills and moorlands of the North.
My images are the result of many hours researching and roaming ancient footpaths, bridleways and turnpike roads, waiting patiently until light, wind and weather allow me to capture the right moment. Each image is presented as it was captured through my lens at that moment, a celebration of the majestic landscape of the Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and North of England.
My images aim to celebrate our Northern landscape and its social, cultural and industrial heritage, catching echoes of life as it was then and as it remains now.
Farfield Mill is open Wednesday to Sunday 10.30am- 4.00pm
