Using fresh foliage and flowers, you’ll explore the exciting process of gel plate printing, building up layers of colour and organic shapes to create beautiful mono prints on both paper and textiles. Wendy will guide you through simple yet effective techniques to help you achieve rich, expressive results — no two prints will ever be the same.
You’ll then learn how to heat bond your printed textiles to create a textured collage surface, which can be further developed with hand stitching and embellishment. This opens up endless creative possibilities, whether you’d like to turn your work into a unique textile artwork, incorporate it into a mixed-media piece, or simply enjoy experimenting with surface design.
The workshop is relaxed, friendly, and hands-on, making it suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some creative experience. There will be plenty of time to play with materials, try out different ideas, and receive individual guidance from Wendy throughout the day.
You’ll leave with a collection of prints, new creative skills, and lots of inspiration to continue exploring gel plate printing at home.
