21st & 22nd September 2019
Sedbergh Sheepfest 2019 was a huge success. The sun shone on a glorious Saturday and people flocked(!) into town to see the sheep, both model and real. For the first time Rural Links also joined us with their field to fork roadshow, with various breeds of sheep and other animals for visitors to see.
Sheepfest was originally the brain child of the team at Farfield Mill Arts & Heritage centre, and there was free entry to the Mill all weekend. As Sunday was very wet all events were held at the Mill. A free bus service ran between the Mill and the town.
Saturday coincided with one of our regular Artisan Markets and there was a wide variety of stalls selling crafts and foods.
This year’s theme was ‘rubbish sheep’ inspired by the current focus for a more sustainable and eco friendly way of living. Lots of people came up with creative ways of recycling items into making their sheep. There was also lots of information about the amazing natural and sustainable resource that is wool.
All in all a baa-rilliant weekend!
