The bluebell bookshop in Penrith has long been a place of pilgrimage for book lovers in Cumbria. They have a huge stock of new titles which they are keen to share in their space in the Dales and Lakes Book Centre. The bluebell room is the place to look for gifts and goodies whether for yourself or friends and family. There is also a selection of calendars, cards, toys and games.

Bluebell bookshop can supply any in-print book or music for delivery either to the Dales and Lakes Book Centre or to your home, orders should arrive within 48 hours. There is no charge for the service and staff at the Dales and Lakes Book Centre and at bluebell in Penrith will be happy to research subjects and help you identify titles you may have heard about. Bluebell will also be happy to obtain books for you to look at ‘on approval’.

Henry Wilson has been established as a specialist dealer in transport books since 1983 and has been trading from his shop in Sedbergh’s Main Street since 2008 with a large range of new and second-hand books covering most aspects of railways at home and abroad. Stock ranges from fine antiquarian items contemporary with the beginnings of railways to many more recent out of print titles. Most current UK railway titles are carried with an emphasis on specialist publishers such as Oakwood Press, Irwell Press and Wild Swan. Railway titles are complemented by books on canals, shipping, trucks, buses and trams, motor cars in addition to many books on industrial and social history.

Harvest Books have a small, mainly specialist stock with an emphasis on illustrated books including Country Life, Folklore, English Literature of 19th and 20th centuries, Social History and Women.
