Charles Dickens has always been associated with Christmas ever since the publication of ‘A Christmas Carol’, on December 19th, 1843. It sold six thousand copies in five days and is still going strong, so join us for a festive evening and find out how Charles Dickens and the Victorians celebrated Christmas and listen to a reading from everyone’s favourite Christmas story.
Take Dickens’s advice and “Fill your glass, with a merry face and a contented heart… your Christmas shall be happy…“.
Join us in the Three Hares café, behind the Black Bull, at 7:00pm on December 3rd . The ticket price includes canapes and a glass of punch. Further drinks will be available at the bar. Victorian costume is optional!
Places are limited and advance booking is essential. Tickets can be purchesed online below or in person at the Sedbergh Information Centre, 72 Main Street
