A BRAND NEW BAND coming from Manchester to play this year, we’re very excited to announce this one! Playing on Saturday the 14th September….
The Thingumajigs are a musical collective of friends from Salford who play “good time music”. We don’t play moody experimental stuff or virtuoso self-indulgent technical music; instead we play sing-along stuff for you lot, our fans, who we love to bits. The music is a blend of pop, funk, folk, reggae, ska, soul, rock and everything in…See more

RURAL HUSTINGS 25TH JUNE 5PM
Its election time and ACT is running a Rural Hustings on the 25th June, online at 5.00pm – 6.30pm.
We will be discussing, with a range of Cumbrian candidates, what their policy approach is to rural communities against the ‘ No rural community left behind – Our recommendations for the next government’ document, (attached) that our national network, Action With Communities in Rural England (ACRE) has compiled from our and other rural organisations feedback.
The key issues covered in the document are:

The key issues covered in the document are:
Pro-active Rural proofing – How do we ensure national and local policy takes account of the needs of rural people?
Investment in services, infrastructure and affordable housing – changes to address the structural disadvantage in the way policy and services are delivered to rural areas.
Support for community-led activity – More funding, more support, less barriers to communities taking action themselves.
Contributing to and benefiting from the transition to Net Zero – Working with rural people to make the necessary changes without disadvantage those who live and work in rural communities.
We will be hearing form the candidates and putting your questions to them in this rural community focussed meeting.
If you would like to be with us, and you would like to ask a question, please book your place here
If you want to discuss this initiative, please contact lorrainnesmyth@cumbriaaction.org.uk
The event will be recorded and uploaded onto our website after the event.
We do hope that you are able to join us
