Cumbria Scuptors

Cumbria Sculptors was set up in 1998 to provide a focal point for sculptors in and around Cumbria, England.

Their aims are to provide a network of sculptors for mutual support, to stage exhibitions and to bring sculpture to the attention of the public through group activities such as exhibitions and workshop.

Cumbria Sculptors exhibitions range from small local halls to major outdoor venues such as the grounds of Hutton-in-the-Forest, Mirehouse and Rydal Hall.

The group’s Members work in many different mediums and produce a diverse range of work. Membership is open to all, whether professional or beginner. We welcome new members, whatever stage they are at in their career or hobby.

Green Door Artists

All life starts in the earth; it ends here too. Time continually carves itself into the strata: rocks tell of millennia spent in flux, mud upon ancient mud speaks of storms and droughts, bones of animals and kin, pottery shards, and crumbling structures lay preserved, cradled by dirt. Out of the Earth comes all things. This exhibition is an artists’ response to the dynamic worlds that lay hidden within it.

Green Door are a self-managed, not-for-profit artists’ co-operative, committed to bringing artists together and making contemporary art accessible to local residents and visitors to the area.    Our membership is made up of artists working across all art forms and we have more than 100 members from around Cumbria and North Lancashire.
