Join the lovely Liz Jones for an introduction into the world of lino printing!
This workshop is a great introduction for those with little or no experience of lino printing. By the end of the workshop, you will have designed, cut and printed your own lino block in a variety of single colours, which you will be able to take home to continue printmaking.
The workshop will cover:
- points to consider when creating a design.
- transferring the design onto a block.
- cutting the design into the block; and
- printing a one colour lino print using soft cut lino and oil-based inks – using a printing press. (I will explain how to print by hand too)
Before working on your final piece, you will learn about the materials, tools and techniques required to create a print. There will be an opportunity to practice cutting and printing before progressing onto your final design.
You will be provided with all the tools and materials you need.
Items to bring: Please wear old clothes and bring an apron. Prepared sketch/ideas (Notes to aide preparation will be emailed prior to the workshop).
