German Miners in Elizabethan Keswick
Mark Hatton will talk about ‘German Miners in Elizabethan Keswick (their life, learnings and legacy)’. Queen Elizabeth I showed personal interest in mining as she believed it was important to avoid importing material from overseas. It should be remembered that Cumbria possesses some of the richest mineral resources in the UK.
