Coronavirus News - 9th September 2021

Government restrictions have now been lifted but there is still a high incidence of COVID-19 in the area. Please continue to observe social distancing, wear face coverings in our shops and use the hand sanitiser provided

Getting to Sedbergh from the M6:

Leave the M6 motorway at junction 37 onto the A684, signposted to Sedbergh. At the end of the slip road turn right if you came from the south, or left if approaching from the north. Continue on the A684 for approximately 5 miles. A large sign welcomes you to Sedbergh.

Getting to Sedbergh from the North East:

Use the A1 and A66 from Scotch Corner to Brough, then the A685 through Kirkby Stephen to the A683.

Getting to Sedbergh from the Leeds/Bradford area:

Follow the A65 to Kirkby Lonsdale then take the A683 to Sedbergh.

Parking in Sedbergh:

There are off-road car parks at Joss Lane and Loftus Hill.

For coach drivers:

Sedbergh is accessible to coaches of all sizes, but the town’s layout had mostly settled down before the advent of the internal combustion, so please take note of the following.

The Sedbergh car park for coaches is Joss Lane, LA10 5AD; coach parking is free and there are public toilets open 8am to 6pm daily on Main Street just by the car park. There is extra parking, also free, at Settlebeck School and on Busk Lane – please contact the Information and Book Centre on 015396 20125 for more information.

If approaching Sedbergh from the west, carry straight on down Main Street when you see the parish church on your right to reach Joss Lane car park. When approaching from the east, please note that you can’t turn right at the mini roundabout when you reach the parish church – there isn’t enough room. Turn left (signposted to the M6), go up the hill, then turn right onto Busk Lane (signposted to the M6 again). Follow Busk Lane to a T junction and turn right – you are now approaching Sedbergh from the west.
