Coronavirus news - 18th June 2020

Clutterbooks and Clobber has now reopened but with reduced opening hours below.

As a temporary measure for the next few weeks Mondays and Tuesdays will be for receiving items for donations but no sales.

Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will be for sales only, please do not bring any items for donation on these days. These arrangements will help the limited number of volunteer staff to clear the backlog of items.

We aim to keep this information as up to date as possible but the Coronavirus situation is constantly changing and you should contact the establishment directly if you want more up to date information.

When items arrive at the shop they are taken downstairs to be sorted, this is somewhere between an Aladdin’s cave and your worst nightmare about the items languishing in your loft. The less saleable items go for recycling – often to other charities and charity shops. Those that make it back up to the sales floor have just four weeks to be bought, after which they too go to be recycled. So there is always something new.

Profits from the charity shop go into the Community Fund which then gives grants to local groups, recycling money within the community.
