The Old Craft Barn

"The Old Craft Barn" originally an 18th century hay barn, nestles under Helms Knott in beautiful Dentdale. Initially, it was converted in the late 1970's into a working craft centre. In later years, with the addition of a tea-room, the renowned "Dent Craft Centre" became an eminent location for locals and tourists alike. Despite thoroughly enjoying eleven years operating the Centre, Carrol and Joe were ready for a fresh challenge. This new initiative fit the bill perfectly and with lots of remodelling within yet still retaining some original features, they feel that the barn has lent itself admirably to a stunning Bed & Breakfast venue.

In addition to the Visit England 5 star award the Old Craft Barn holds a "Gold Award" and a "Breakfast Award".

There are three individually designed bedrooms, all with ensuite. The welcoming guest lounge has a spectacular view of Combe Scar together with a corner fire, large comfortable sofas, books, maps and games. An interesting display of Joe's antique tools and dairy equipment often spark off a conversation! A tray of hot tea and homebaked scones, cakes or biscuits awaits your arrival. In the morning, "breakfast like a king" with a choice of delicious local and homemade fare. All in all, a unique interior with a warm Dales welcome!
