Western Dales Community Bus Service Ltd. (to give it its full name) is a not-for-profit company providing transport for the Western Dales and Lune Valley. It is a charity and all its drivers are volunteers. They currently have two 16 seat minibuses and run scheduled services between Sedbergh, Dent, Kendal, Kirkby Stephen and Penrith and one to Hawes on Fridays in summer months.

The service helps residents with shopping, medical and social trips to Kendal and connects to rail services at Dent and Oxenholme stations, bringing visitors to the Western Dales and allowing residents to reach Preston, Carlisle and Leeds.

The minibus (with driver) is available for hire to registered charities and community groups.

More information, including service timetables, is available from the Western Dales Bus website. They are always looking for volunteers for driving and support roles, so please get in touch if interested
