Sheep at the Moorcock show

You can also take part in our public judging competition and choose the best sheep of the bunch and win a prize. But apart from the sheep there are lots of local craft and food stalls, together with the usual beer tent.

For the children there is a bouncy castle, and other games. Music will be provided by Hawes Silver Band and later in the afternoon by a local singer.

The show ground, at Mossdale Farm, is approximately 3 miles west of Hawes. Car parking is free.

Sedbergh Artisan Market

Our sixth season of markets continues. The market has grown over the past twelve months and now runs along all of Main Street from St. Andrew’s church gate to the Information and Book Centre. You will find the best crafts, made by the stall holders themselves, and delicious food locally produced by the traders. New for this year there will be hot food. We are working to make the market more of a family occasion with competitions, street magic and games for kids, run by Settlebeck School, in St. Andrew’s church yard. The town’s shops and cafes will be open as usual as a perfect complement to the stalls.
