Vaughan Williams Toward The Unknown Region
McDowall Seventy Degrees Below zero
Vaughan Williams Sinfonia Antartica (arr. Morton)
Introduced by James Wake from the British Antarctic Survey, the festival concludes with a grand adventure to the South Pole featuring our two celebrated composers of 2022. Join the expedition as Vaughan Williams depicts the incredible landscape of ice and wind (based on his film score to Scott of the Antarctic) in this specially narrated version by Artistic Director Stephen Threlfall, while McDowall’s musical rendering of Captain Scott’s diaries brings us ever closer to the action.
