The Department for Transport has awarded our council Bus Service Improvement Plan Plus (BSIP+) funding to enhance services across the area.
To make sure the services we support with the funding meet the needs of communities and lead to well-supported provision, we have launched a consultation offering residents, businesses and visitors the opportunity to shape spending plans.
Our Sustainable Transport Team has already started to devise a list of 35 suggested bus routes the monies could fund.
The consultation offers the opportunity for people to comment on the suggested enhancements, stating which ones you would support and if there are any new services you think your community would benefit from.
Here are all of the ways you can get involved before the deadline of Tuesday 30 April:
Complete the consultation online https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NT2FG2P or by paper copy at a Westmorland and Furness Library in Barrow, Grange, Kendal and Penrith.
Attend one of our six public drop in sessions happening both online and at central locations on bus routes.
Following the consultation, a recommendation report will be developed by the team and presented to Highways and Transport Strategic Board on 4 June 2024 for a decision.
