Location: Farfield Mill

Contact: Jo Mowbray

Admission: £55

Come and enjoy an indulgent day of crochet. Relax with likeminded crafters and learn a new skill in a laid-back environment with a friendly tutor and plenty of indulgent treats to keep up your energy!

Your tutor will be Tracey Todhunter, a crochet designer and teacher with over 20 years’ experience.  Tracey is a regular designer for Inside Crochet magazine, has written several craft books and her relaxed, informal teaching style makes her a popular tutor.

The day will be structured so that you will work at a relaxed pace, free from the pressures of home and work. You will be encouraged to slow down, enjoy the surroundings of Farfield Mill and learn the basics skills of crochet at your own pace. Your beginners crochet kit will include  all you need to start your first crochet project and bonus patterns you can use to practise your new crochet skills.

About Tracey.

Tracey Todhunter is a knitwear and crochet designer. She has been crocheting since she was a child. She started making up designs in the 1970’s when crochet patterns for teenagers were pretty scarce. She loves to make, to teach and I to chat about all things yarn related, both online and at my local knit group.

She is the author of several books, including the Woman’s Weekly Guide to Crochet which was published in February 2016 and 200 More Crochet Stitches (published in 2019).

Tracey sells crochet kits and finished items using British wool and natural fibres to Galleries in the Northwest, and she sells her designs to many of the UK’s top craft magazines. She like patterns that are quick, simple, and easy to follow, so that is what she creates. Most of her magazine commissions are for homewares, but she also like to design fun, easy to wear items for kids and babies that often use just 1 skein of precious yarn.  She has also collaborated with yarn companies and shops to produce simple designs, suitable for beginners using basic stitches and techniques, so that even beginners can make something they would be proud to keep or give to their friends.
