Cumbria Wildlife Trust is a voluntary organisation for raising environmental awareness and the conservation of the wildlife and wildplaces of Cumbria.
Since it’s formation in 1962 the Trust has gained over 15,000 members and cares for over 40 nature reserves. It campaigns for the protection of endangered habitats and species such as limestone pavements and red squirrels, and works with adults and children to help them discover the importance of the natural world.
The Sedbergh Support Group is one of the nine local support groups that organise various events for both members and non-members.These can be illustrated talks by a guest speaker (which usually take place in winter), walks, open gardens or plant sales. Each group is run by a committee and annual general meetings to elect new committee members take place at the beginning of each year.
