Sedbergh Town Twinning
Zreče General Description
Zreče is a town of about 3,000 inhabitants just off the old road (the way before the motorway was built) between the Slovenian capital of Ljubliana and its second town, Maribor.
Zreče is a spead-out town in rolling hills below the Slovenian skiing resort of Rocla. It has factories, one making workmen's tools such as spanners and another making grinding wheels.

There is a leisure centre containing hot and cold pools both indoor and outside, plus gym.
Sedbergh's contact with Zreče came through the BBC2 programme, 'The Town that Wants a Twin', broadcast over 12 episodes in January 2005, in which Sedbergh played host to four European towns selected by the television production company, from which Zreče was overwhelmingly selected by the people of Sedbergh, on a vote.
