Sedbergh Events Calendar

Settle Voices and the Sedbergh singers have been invited to join the Saturday night concert in Chapel le Dale, a tiny fellside church where over 400 navvies who built the railway are buried - followed by singing in the Hill Inn afterwards.

The Concert is part of the Dent Folk Carols Festival and features the Gladly Solemn Sound choir, Thomas Hardy stories with fiddlers, and visiting choirs. Followed by singing in the pub.

This annual festival is always well attended and includes a varied programme of workshops to learn the old folk carols sung in churches in the Yorkshire dales and also in pubs throughout Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

The festive midwinter Singing Walk will include songs which everyone can join in with as well as songs from visiting choirs - referred to last year by a visiting Scottish choir as: "Extreme Carolling!"
