The Write Idea: Late Summer Book Events in Sedbergh, 17th to 25th September
This year our Books & Drama Festival has a new name, The Write Idea, and though the number of events is smaller than in previous years (cultural projects are having to trim their cloth just like the rest of us!) we believe we have retained the quality of speaker that audiences have come to expect.

This event runs from Thursday 24th March to Saturday 26th March Sedbergh's annual panto produced by our own Rose Theatre Group. In 2005 the Rose Community Theatre told the story of Spar Wars when the people of Sedbergh won the fight against the Evil Azda Empire for the right to keep their Spar Shop.. Years of peace have passed and the Spar has built a brand new shop. The Queen has come to open it.. However the Evil Azda Empire lead by the dastardly Darth Morph and his partner in all things wicked Garth Vader, are plotting to destroy the new Spar. Will they succeed? Not if Luke Fellwalker, Hansoff, Princess Freda and every bodies favorite, Dr Poo has anything to do with it.
