Plot rents are currently 26p/sq.m. and there is a membership fee of £5.00 on joining the Association. All plots are presently allocated but the Association operates a waiting list.
Members of the Association are committed to organic methods of cultivation, as far as is reasonably practicable. Whilst no buildings are permitted on the plots there is a shed on site which is available as a tool store for all plot holders. A mains water supply has been provided. Rabbit-proof fencing has been erected and the boundary hedges are now well established. The Association is affiliated to the National Society of Allotment & Leisure Gardeners Ltd which operates a seed purchasing scheme at discounted prices.
The allotments were established in 2009 with funding provided by the Sedbergh & District Community Fund, Cumbria County Council’s Neighbourhood Forum, Sedbergh Parish Council and the Friends of the Lake District.
