The Lakeland Radio Big Read

Cumbria Libraries, Lakeland Radio and Sedbergh Book Town are working together on The Lakeland Radio Big Read - quite possibly South Lakeland’s, if not Cumbria’s, largest book club!

At the start of every month, listeners to Simon Yaxley’s breakfast show are introduced to the month’s selected title and invited to read along with the team at Lakeland Radio. Sometimes the authors themselves appear on air discussing their work with Simon, talking about the book’s characters and outlining what key themes people can expect to find within it.

The chosen books will be freely available from libraries throughout Cumbria and can be purchased from the Sedbergh Tourist Information centre.

Reading groups who would like to join in with the Lakeland Radio Big Read and read the month’s selected title can do so by requesting the title set from Cumbria Libraries. If reading groups are not yet registered to use Cumbria Libraries Reading Group Loan Collection Service registration is simple and free.
